For those who know me, you know how much I hate my naturally curly hair. For those who are getting to know me, now you know I hate my naturally curly hair.
Looking on the bright side of my curly hair, I can just spray it with water and go. It's called fake hair do for curly hair. No matter if it was brushed or not, it looks the same.
My darling teen aged daughter has naturally curly, (very curly in some places) shoulder length, dark golden blonde hair. I love it! It is so darned pretty and mine is so darned flat and not curly.
We keep my daughter's hair about shoulder lenght with long layers and no bangs. Makes it a bit easier for her to deal with.
Every six months she adds a few lil' highlights to the crown to enhance the blonde. In younger years she was a white blonde, now her hair is beginning to turn a darker golden blonde. The highlights add a carmel color to the mix.
She says although her hair is a pain, she would not cut it short.
My advice to your daughter is to find the book called "curly Girl" By Lorraine Massey. She is a pro at Curls. It's my second "bible". She herself has curly hair. By her I learned how to care for mine, and to cut it right.
She should not cut it too short, she would look like a french poodle. That was my mistake a year ago, yep I looked like a cross between Shirley Temple and a french poodle. It was a nightmare. Almost a year latter it finely it looks somewhat normal.
